11^th Annual Berthusen 15K Co-ed Cross Country Relays

Date:          Saturday, September 11^th, 2005

Time:                   The relay starts at 11:00 (“no team” race at 10:30)

Cost:           $35.00 per school or $2.00 per athlete, whichever is less.

Place:         Lynden’s Berthusen Park

Course:      One big loop, mostly on wooded paths in the park.

Distance:    3000 meters per runner

Team:         3 boys and 2 girls (more than 2 girls are allowed).  A school can have as many teams as they can put together!

Awards:      The top 21 teams will be awarded ribbons (105 ribbons!).  We usually finish with the awards around 12:30.

The Race:  Each runner will be given a bib number and will run 3000 meters.  When the 1^st runner crosses the finish line the 2^nd runner takes off.  This continues until the 5^th runner crosses the finish line.  You can run in any order you wish, though most teams run boy-girl-boy-girl-boy. (We have had teams with runners from up to 4 schools).  If we can’t put your runners on a relay team they can run in the 3000 meter “no team” race (times are called out at the finish line, but no score or official results are kept).  This race is also open to coaches and anyone else who wants to check out the course.
