- The
East / West Senior All-Star Race
was established by the Washington State Cross Country Coaches Association to
recognize the accomplishments of graduating seniors who have excelled in the
sport of cross country.

- The all-star team is
made up of 75 graduating male and female runners from all five high school classifications. Coaches can recommend any
other senior student / athlete to this team who they deem deserving of this
honor. Non all-star seniors are also encouraged to participate.
The East/West
Senior All-Star Race will also feature junior, sophomore,
freshman and alumni/coaches divisions and awards.

Several
scholarships totaling $4000, named in honor of Hall of Fame coaches, are annually awarded
at the race
to those athletes who have excelled in academics, school and community service
and displayed sportsmanship and integrity while participating in the sport of
cross country. The scholarships
are open to all senior
cross country runners that coaches would like to recommend based on their
contributions while participating in cross country.

The 2008 race will be held
in Saturday, July 19th
at Woodland Park,
Seattle, WA at 10:00 a.m.
Race uniform and packet pick up Friday, July
18th
4:30 pm - 6:00 pm at Super Jock n Jill or Saturday
morning at Woodland Park.

Registration expenses (plus
uniform, awards & lunch) will be covered for this event for all invited senior
all-stars.

To be considered for an East/West
Senior All-Star Scholarship
you must return a completed scholarship application by June 30th 2008.
Senior All-Stars also need to confirm their registration for the race on
this date. After June 30th spots will be given other runners.

2003 Results
Carl Moe finished off his high school career with one more
victory in the East/West All-Star cross country race. Wearing the purple
singlet of the West, Carl finished the 5k course in 15:46, 11 seconds ahead of
crimson clad Brian Ehlis of the East team. On the girl’s side, Katie Hummel of
Eisenhower led the way, finishing in 19:13. She was followed by another Yakima
runner, Breane Stebol of East Valley. The race was run in conjunction with the
Fort Steilacoom Watermelon run, and featured 30 of last years top graduating
cross country runners from throughout the state. The West team won both the
boys and girls races.

Directions -
Fort Steilacoom
Take I-5 South to exit 129. Turn right
(west) off the exit ramp onto South 74th St. and follow that road for approx.
3.4 miles. (At the 2m. mark the road veers left and becomes Custer Road SW)
When you reach 88th St. SW, turn right. After 2 blocks this road becomes
Steilacoom Blvd. SW. Continue on Steilacoom Blvd. for approx. 1/3 Mile. Turn
Left at 87th Ave. SW (there is a stop light) Fort Steilacoom Park is on the
right. Pull in the entrance and the races will be held at the opposite end of
the fields.
