2007 Evergreen Cross Country Camp
Sponsored by: South Sound Running, Club Olympia and The Evergreen State Cross Country Team.
Ages: 7th – 12th Grade
July 16-20 – The Evergreen State College Campus
9:00 AM – 4:00 PM Monday – Thursday
9:00 AM – 1:00 PM Friday
Camp Description
The Inaugural Evergreen Cross Country Camp will focus on training, race preparation, goal setting, team building and more. Top area coaches and specialized guest speakers will guide and educate you in daily activities. You will have the opportunity to run on the forested trails and surrounding areas of The Evergreen State College campus. Covering 6-10 miles in up to two daily training sessions, you will be accompanied by elite and college level athletes.
The last day of camp will include a 5k cross country race.
Lunch will be included and you will receive a T-Shirt and “goody bag” for your participation.
Staff
Rich Brown – Head Coach for Girls and Boys Cross Country and Track and Field Teams at Tumwater High School. A graduate of Tumwater High School and Montana State University, Coach Brown is a the owner of his own personal training business, a certified massage therapist, USATF Level I Certified coach and Olympic Trials qualifier.
Craig Dickson – Camp director and head coach for Women’s and Men’s Cross Country and Track and Field Teams at The Evergreen State College. A graduate of Adams State College in Colorado, he is a USATF Level I Certified coach, 8 Time NAIA All-American, former USA National Cross Country Team member and Olympic Trials qualifier.
Miguel Galeana – Personal coach and manager of South Sound Running. Miguel graduated from Hoquim High School and Montana State University. Miguel was a NCAA All-American in the 3000 meter steeplechase, Olympic Trials qualifier and has won many recent road races in Washington.
Linda Huyck – Head Coach for Girls and Boys Cross Country at Timberline High School. Linda competes for Club Northwest in Cross Country and Track and Field, is one of the top female road racers in the Northwest and is a former Olympic Trials qualifier in the marathon.
The Evergreen State College Cross Country Team – Camp staff will include present and past members of the team, including National Championship qualifiers and All-Conference/Region honorees.
Guest Speakers
Physical therapists, nutritionists and athletes will be among the guest speakers.

Camp size is limited to 100 participants
Camp Fees
$145 per person up to July 2nd.
$175 per person after July 2nd. (Last day to register is July 9th)
